Congratulations to Leon Topalian, chair, president and chief executive officer of SMA member Nucor Corporation, on being elected chairman of the World Steel Association (worldsteel).

Worldsteel, which represents steel producers, national and regional steel industry associations and steel research institutes, is meeting this week in China. The chairman serves for one year.

Topalian was named chair, president and CEO of Nucor in 2022. He has been with Nucor since 1996.
