The Steel Manufacturers Association (SMA) congratulates President Trump on his inauguration. President Trump has repeatedly demonstrated his strong support for American steel workers. He reiterated that support on day one by directing his agencies to investigate unfair trade and its impact on domestic manufacturing. In the five-point action plan that we presented to President Trump, we asked him to stand up to unfair trade practices — and he is doing exactly that. Legislation such as Leveling the Playing Field 2.0 will give the administration even stronger tools to enforce President Trump’s order. We look forward to working with President Trump and his administration to continue to grow a steel industry that builds our country’s infrastructure and secures our national defense.
