SMA President Quoted in Architectural Record Piece Sponsored by SINY

Architects, specifying engineers and construction project managers looking for information about low-emissions steel for high-performing buildings will find it in a new article and continuing-education course promoted in the March 2024 issue of Architectural Record.

The article, called “Structural Steel for Low-Carbon-Emission Lightweight Frames,” by Dr. William B. Millard, features insights from the Steel Manufacturers Association and the Global Steel Climate Council. It promotes a continuing education course on the same topic — part of a sponsorship paid for by the Steel Institute of New York.

Quotes from SMA President Philip K. Bell appear on pages 3-7 of the sponsored article. The article includes an SMA-supplied map showing the steel industry’s national footprint (page 5) and a graphic showing the GSCC Steel Climate Standard decarbonization glidepath (page 7).

(SMA served as an interview source for the article and the course but had no role in the writing, editing or approval of the content.)
