The Hill today published an SMA op-ed that focuses on the need to address outdated rail regulations. The piece discusses reform initiatives at the U.S. Surface Transportation Board, including the competitive switching proposal and efforts to reduce the cost/complexity of rate cases. SMA has also strongly advocated for the need to remove existing commodity exemptions pertaining to steel products in order to give steel shippers full access to remedy at the STB.
