Congratulations to SMA’s vice president in charge of government affairs, Brandon Farris, on being honored by Washingtonian magazine as one of the 500 most influential people shaping policy in the nation’s capital.

Brandon oversees SMA’s legislative and regulatory affairs and leads the association’s public policy agenda and strategic relationships.

He came to SMA in 2024 from the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), where he was vice president overseeing domestic policy. He was named by The Hill as a top lobbyist in 2023 for leading industry efforts on permitting reform and regulatory overreach.

With 24 steelmaking member companies and more than 60 associate members, SMA is North America’s largest association of steel producers.
