The Steel Manufacturers Association Board of Directors has elected eight officers to the 2026-2028 SMA Executive Committee.

The following officers will lead the association through the continuation of SMA’s strategic plan execution that calls for high achievement in government affairs, public relations, and data aggregation:

Chair: Barry Schneider, president and chief operations officer, Steel Dynamics Inc. (Ft. Wayne, Indiana)

First Vice Chair: Ben Pickett, executive vice president, business services, Nucor (Charlotte, North Carolina)

Treasurer: Ed Goettl, vice president, market development, Optimus Steel (Beaumont, Texas)

Immediate Past Chair: Ty Garrison, senior vice president, CMC (Irving, Texas)

Vice Chair at Large: Lenore Trammell, chief administrative officer, chief compliance officer and general counsel, Big River Steel (Osceola, Arkansas)

Vice Chair at Large: Michael Williams, president and chief executive, Metallus (Canton, Ohio)

Vice Chair at Large: Rob Simon, chief executive, JSW Steel USA (Baytown, Texas)

Vice Chair at Large: Conrad Winkler, president, North Star BlueScope (Delta, Ohio)

“SDI’s Barry Schneider and his fellow members on the 2026-2028 SMA Executive Committee are exemplary steel industry executives who will lead the Steel Manufacturers Association to new heights,” SMA President and CEO Philip K. Bell said.
