“Steel manufacturers strongly support the extension of surface transportation authorities as part of the Senate’s continuing resolution to fund the government,” Farris said. “America’s infrastructure is made of steel, with federal highway programs being a critical source of demand for domestic steelmakers. We welcome this step by the Senate to ensure no lapse in these programs while Congress works toward a robust, long-term authorization that supports American steel.”
