The Steel Manufacturers Association provided a statement in support of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2027 to the House Armed Services Committee.

“The FY2027 NDAA takes meaningful steps to strengthen the domestic industrial base, recognizing the criticality of a revitalized manufacturing sector to America’s economic future and national security,” wrote SMA Executive Vice President, Brandon Farris. “the legislation sends a much-needed, strong policy signal to promote U.S. shipbuilding capability… SMA commends the Committee for directing a comprehensive analysis on the part of the Department of War to encourage domestic supply of materials for defense applications.”
