“President Trump has taken decisive action in his second term to rebalance global trade and fulfill his promise to put American workers and American industry first. Today’s Supreme Court decision does not diminish the undeniable impact of the president’s policies, which have driven significant new investment into the United States, reopened markets long closed to American producers and torn down trade barriers that stood for generations.

“Critically, the Supreme Court’s ruling does not affect President Trump’s signature section 232 steel tariff, cornerstone policies of America’s manufacturing renaissance. The section 232 steel tariff is revitalizing the American steel industry, strengthened our national security, and fueled the creation of high-quality American jobs.

“The results of the steel tariff are clear and measurable. For the first time since the 1990s, the United States has surpassed Japan in steel production, rising to become the world’s third-largest steel producer. It has catalyzed more than $25 billion in investments from our members to modernize facilities, expand domestic capacity, and secure the future of American-made steel.

“President Trump’s trade policies remain focused on rebuilding American manufacturing, fortifying our industrial base, and ensuring that American workers compete and win on a level playing field. America First trade policy is not optional; it is essential to the strength of the steel industry and to the men and women whose work builds our nation.”
